DEACON IN CHARGE: MYLON FULFORD
This is a program that originated in Texas and is designed to allow every member of our congregation to be involved in some way with outreach. Monday
Night for the Master focuses on several areas: non-faithful members, faithful members and visitors.
In one part of the program, we spend time sending cards, which include "We Missed You"; "Sympathy"; "Get Well" and "Glad You Came" cards. Another
area focuses on phone calls where the elderly, sick, shut-ins, visitors or others are contacted.
We also conduct personal visits, where members actually go out and visit in homes, bring food and fellowship to those who most need it or have requested it.
Dinner is provided to our volunteers prior to handing out assignments. We provide Tutoring and childcare for the children of those parents involved with the
program.
Of course, none of this happens without the participation of our members and we invite you to join us! Areas of service include cooking, setup and clean up,
phone calls, card writing, visits, childcare and tutoring. When you sign up for a specific service area, you only do that one job. If you sign up to cook, you will
help cook and serve and then you are done for the night. If you sign up to go visiting, arrive at 6pm, eat, find out who you will be visiting (address and
directions are provided) and then go visit. When you finish your visits, return to the church building, drop off your information and you are done for the evening.
Dates & Times: 1st, 3rd & 5th Monday night of each month (you only commit for ONE Monday night at a time)
6:00pm: Dinner
6:25pm: Assignments are handed out
